Are you going to visit clients soon? Looking for something memorable to take as a “hi – how are you gift?” What about bagging up the ingredients for your favorite Fourth of July holiday recipe as a gift basket? Don’t go crazy – just something easy – maybe kid friendly! Print out a recipe card and include it with a personal recommendation, “This recipe is one of my favorites! My kids love making them and sharing them with the gang.” Celebrate summer! Stand out in the crowd!
No matter what your brand culture, you can always come up with something that fits your property identity or theme to wow your customers. Pack up a picnic lunch and take your client to the park! Pick up your client and take them for a walk on the beach, around the lake, or to one of your favorite museums.
Don’t want to do food? What about a summer smell? Blueberry muffin, fresh strawberry or summer rain potpourri are typical of the season. Beach items, tickets to baseball games or golf tournaments, or other summer fun activities are also well-received. What about sounds? Make a mix CD of your favorite summer tunes!
When was the last time you invited a client to breakfast? Your hotel offers breakfast every day…. every sales person in our portfolio of hotels should be using this timeframe to get at least one client, once a week to their hotel for a visit. Let them witness your hospitality and service by feeding them free breakfast!
Summer doesn’t have to be the slow time for your hotel. Quite the contrary – while everyone is lamenting that they are stuck indoors – you should be out on the streets looking for new business and stealing business from your competitors.
Happy summer selling!
Linda
